Funding for Cultural and Entertainment Activities
A message from the Fukuoka City Commerce, Tourism, and Culture Office.
The City of Fukuoka is offering artists and events professionals a chance to create and distribute video content in an effort to contribute to the development of the fields of culture and entertainment, two areas which are deeply rooted in city life and which contribute to the charm and growth of Fukuoka.
This project supports the creation and distribution of video content that helps to promote interest Fukuoka’s cultural and entertainment scenes.

1. Project summary
This project provides funding for professional artists based in Fukuoka to collaborate with events professionals to create and distribute video content in which the artist is featured.
・Support of up to 500,000 yen per production
(100,000 yen for each party involved in production, up to five parties)
2. Intended recipients
Artists and events professionals (small- to medium-sized) working in the fields of culture and entertainment
(Examples of intended recipients)
・Artists in fields such as music, live performance (including street performance), dance, live art, theater, traditional arts and crafts, calligraphy, and flower arranging with a continuous record of paid public appearances and events prior to the onset of the coronavirus pandemic
・Events professionals in fields such as lighting, sound, equipment, and editing who work alongside artists
3. Eligible productions
Create an original video that helps promote the culture and entertainment of Fukuoka.
・A video product around 10 minutes in length (must feature the recipient artist)
・The work is shot within Fukuoka after the decision to issue funds has been made
・The work does not aim to promote any specific religion, political organization, or product
4. Application deadlines
First submission period: Monday, June 1st, 2020, to 5:00 p.m. Monday, June 15th, 2020
Second submission period: Tuesday, June 16th, 2020, to 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 30th, 2020
※ 50 projects from each period will be supported. A project may only be submitted to one submission period.
