Regarding seminar hosted by movie director Yukihiko Tsutsumi 【February 10】
On February 10 (Sunday), movie director Yukihiko tsutsumi will host a seminar called “Speaking on film in Fukuoka. The work of Yukihiko Tsutsumi and ‘the theory of Fukuoka'”.Aside from director Tsutsumi’s “Trick” series, such as “20th Century Boys” part three, and popular movies and shows, he also has countless works on stage such as “Makaitensho”, and his film, “Juninin no Shinitai Kodomotachi” is playing in theaters now.
He will discuss how to move forward as a director, and explain his own views on Fukuoka, with young local visual artist Takayuki Sugano* as a panelist.
※In a related event, Mr. Sugano will hold a showing of “Calandiva”, which he worked on as director, on Febraury 17 (Sun).
Date: Feburary 10 (Sun.), 2019.
Time: Reception begins at 6pm, and the event begins at 6:30pm.
Place: The Fukuoka City Science Museum, Science Hall.
Price: ￥4,000 for adults, free for students and infants.

■Director Yukihiko Tsutsumi Profile
Born in Aiti, in 1955. He works in film, tevelision, and in theater. In 1988, he debued in the omnibus film “Bakayaro!: Watashi okkote masu”, with the piece “Eigo ga Nannanda”. His primary works are the “Trick” movie series (2002-2014), “Ashita no Kioku” (2006), “20th Century Boys” part three (2008-9), the “SPEC” movies (2012-13), “Itamu Hito” (2015), “Initiation Love”(2015), “Tenku no Hachi”, (2015), “Sanada Juyushi” (2016), “Nigyo no Nemuru Ie” (2018), etc.
His latest work, “Juninin no Shinitai Kodomotachi” (distributed by Warner Brothers Films) was in theaters nation wide starting on January 25.
Part three of the television series “SICK’S”, “Hanosho” begins in spring of 2019, on Paravi.
Has also worked on such theater productions as “Sanada Juyushi”, “Makaitensho” (still fresh in memory for garnering high acclaim for doing 31 public performances at Hakata-za in October of 2018).
Became visiting professor at the Aichi Institute of Technology in 2010.
Won Best Director at the 40th Hochi Film Awards.
