Yasuhiro Suzuki “Neighborhood Globe / The Blackboard of Space”

A paper leaf. On the front is a picture of a pair of open eyes and on the back, a pair of closed eyes. As the leaf falls from the sky, dancing and twirling around in the air, it creates the impression of a pair of blinking eyes.

This work, known as “blinking leaves” is one of the best-known creations of the artist Yasuhiro Suzuki, whose latest solo exhibition marks his return to Fukuoka after a ten-year break.
