[TALK SESSION Part 1] 3:05 PM – 4:45 PM 
1. Beginning Finland: Japan-Finland Governmental Tourism Office, Japan representative Shigeyoshi Noto
Overall introduction of the land, climate, culture, and tourism resources of Finland
2. Finnish industries and their backgrounds: Senior trade commissioner from the Finnish embassy, Masahiro Kimura
The economic conditions and major industries of the Nordic area, concentrating mainly on Finland, and business with Japan
3. Finland as a gateway to Europe: Finnair Fukuoka Branch Manager Hiroyuki Hotta
Overview of Finnair, their routes, and an introduction of their role and potential
4. Japan’s traditional crafts and Finnish design: Yamaguchi Prefectural University Professor Fumitaka Iou
How Japan’s traditional crafts (a valuable local resource) can be combined with advanced Finnish design to create new value and construct a global business, and more.

[PART II Panel Discussion] 4:50 PM to 5:45 PM
A discussion on what should be done to connect the regional resources of the Kyushu/Yamaguchi area to Finland for the continuous advancement and promotion of business in both areas. A policy should be developed for the global development of the huge business resources (such as traditional crafts and agricultural products) that are dormant in rural areas, and for taking in Nordic advancements in the IT field in Fukushima. The four lecturers from Part I will talk about how Finland is not just for tourism, and about the charms and possibilities of the Nordic area.
