Regarding the Call for Nominations for the Fukuoka City Culture Award and Fukuoka Citizens Cultural Activities Achievement Award

This is an announcement from the Fukuoka City Bureau of Economy, Tourism and Culture.
We are currently accepting nominations for the Fukuoka City Culture Award and the Fukuoka Citizens Cultural Activities Achievement Award, which are presented to individuals and groups who have contributed to the advancement, development and promotion of culture in Fukuoka City.
Recent recipients of the Fukuoka City Culture Award in the field of media arts include Takahashi Ito (experimental filmmaker), Shunsuke Nakamura (CEO of Shikumi Design Inc.), Akihiro Hino (CEO of Level-5 Inc.), Yukari Oshima (Asian action film star), and Kan Eguchi (Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kuuki Co., Ltd.), while Yasuhiro Yanagi (theater and film critic) and Etsuo Genda (Professor Emeritus at Kyushu University) have been awarded the Fukuoka Citizens Cultural Activities Achievement Award.

1. Outline of each award
(1) Fukuoka City Culture Award: Awarded to individuals or groups who have made outstanding contributions to the development and improvement of culture in the city, particularly in the arts. (Established in 1976. To date, 171 individuals and 7 groups have received this award).
(2) Fukuoka Citizens Cultural Activities Achievement Award: Presented to individuals or groups who, over many years, have made outstanding contributions to the development of Fukuoka’s civic culture through activities that foster it, and who have contributed to the creation of a vibrant city. (Established in 1994. To date, 36 individuals and 27 groups have received this award).

Tuesday, October 8, 2024 to Friday, January 10, 2025.
