Fukuoka Film Producers Lab Now Accepting Applications! Workshop for Directors and Producers Aiming for International Expansion!

Fukuoka Film Producers Lab Held
Creative Lab Fukuoka is offering hands-on support for producers and directors aiming for international co-productions and challenging overseas film festival project markets. We will welcome leading film producers and industry professionals as mentors and instructors. This program, centered around a three-day workshop, is conducted with the cooperation of the “Cinema at Sea – Okinawa Pan-Pacific International Film Festival,” which held its first edition last year. Participants will be able to attend the industry section of the same film festival without a registration fee.
Applications have been open since Monday, August 19, so we look forward to receiving applications from producers and directors with project proposals.

Program Overview
Name: Fukuoka Film Producers Lab
Dates: October 1, 2024 (Tue) – October 3, 2024 (Thu), All Day
Venue: Fukuoka City Red Brick Cultural Hall (1-15-30 Tenjin, Chuo-ku, Fukuoka City)
Tuition: Free
Content: The program will support participants up to the point of applying to overseas film festival project markets with the following activities:
・Lectures on the basics of international co-productions, an overview of the film industry, and case studies
・Project refinement and advice
・Mock pitches, lectures, and observing project pitches
・English project proposal review and advice

Eligibility
Film directors and producers who meet any of the following criteria ①-③ and aim to participate in international film project markets. (Participation as a duo of director and producer is preferable, but individual participation by either is also possible.) The project must aim for international co-production.
①Residing, working, or studying in Fukuoka City, or actively engaged in activities within the city, and has produced at least one film or video work (short or feature-length).
②A director or producer participating with a partner who meets the criteria in ①.
③For directors and producers based outside Fukuoka City, the project to be refined in this program must either consider filming in Fukuoka City or have plans to establish a base or start a business in Fukuoka City in the future.
