Target participants:
*About five people will be selected.
A creator who commutes to work or school in Fukuoka-shi, or is active in the city, who has produced at least one film or video work (short or long), and who is around or under 35 and wants to be a film director or film producer.

Monday, August 14th, 2023 through Friday, August 25th, 2023
Summary:
Film director ZHANG Lu will come to Japan in September in commemoration of winning the Arts and Culture Award of the 33rd Fukuoka Prize and will give a special one-day class, “Film Director’s School,” to aspiring film directors and film producers active in Fukuoka.
Director ZHANG Lu and the participants will introduce themselves and interact with one another in the morning. And in the afternoon, they will tour several spots where the movie “Fukuoka” was filmed.
This special class, directed by ZHANG Lu, who also served as a film major professor at Yonsei University, allows participants not only to learn the art of film making, but also to go out on the streets and learn the attitude toward film making through repeated dialogues with the director, as well as from his perspectives, emotions, and mindset that enrich film making,
While in Fukuoka, please take this opportunity to attend a special class with a few openings with the international film director ZHANG Lu.

Each participant’s self-introductions: Pitch of each person’s video work and planned production project

Period 2:
13:00-16:30 Starting from Akarenga Bunkakan, walk around the Tenjin and Nakasu areas to visit several spots. They will take a walking tour of several locations in the city of Fukuoka. The tour will include on-site explanations of the scenario structure, camera layout, and actual acting instruction that took place during the production of each scene in the film. It will include a series of dialogues with the participants.
