Fukuoka Museum Week 5/17〜5/25

Fukuoka Museum Week is planned event that allows you to easily visit our museums of natural history and art.
Each year, the 11 museums of Fukuoka City cooperate to commemorate and implement the “International Museum Day.”


During Museum Week, in addition to the regular and special exhibitions and collections, there are also a wide variety of events such as gallery tours, and workshops.

At the Fukuoka City Museum, curators will be present to introduce the highlights of recently renovated permanent exhibition room.

5/20 (Tues), 5/21(Wed), and 5/22 (Thu).

At the Fukuoka Asian Art Gallery, curators will be make guided tours of the normally closed backyard of the art museum.
■Backyard tour: 5/18 (Sun) and 5/24 (Sat) 15:00 ~ 16:00

At the Fukuoka City Art Museum, there will be a live concert with the theme “exhibition pictures,” incorporating stage features such as lighting and imagery.

Performing Artists: Ouame (Ouhatayuichi + Sakamoto Miu), Rue de Valse / Lehua
Scheduled for 5/24 (Sat) – 5/25 (Sun) 14:00 ~ 16:00

Further event details

In addition to the other events, there will be a stamp rally from 5/17 to 5/25. Those who wish to participate must visit at least 2 of the 11 museums and apply for a stamp card at the last one visited. Participants can win prizes such as tickets to special exhibitions, or other great prizes through a lottery. Moreover, all those who participate in the stamp rally will receive special benefits or privileges.
